NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit
Thank you to NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit who signed the charter on 2nd June 2021 providing protection for their 1,712 employees.
Deputy Director of People, Adam Burgess Evans, said:
“The Health and Wellbeing of our staff is our top priority and our organisation has been and continues to be committed to ensuring all our staff feel valued and supported, particularly when facing life’s challenges. So we had no hesitation in signing up to the TUC charter alongside our trade unions and I hope that more employers do the same.
"We wholeheartedly support this important campaign which is aimed at providing the reassurance and peace of mind to employees at a time when they are needed most. The charter affirms our commitment that any member of staff dealing with a terminal diagnosis is treated with respect, dignity and is given the right to decide the best course of action for themselves and their families.”
Staff Side Chair, Carole Adebayo, said:
“We (MLCSU Staff Side) support the TUC’s Dying to Work campaign, so that all our colleagues battling terminal illness have adequate employment protection and have their death-in-service benefits protected for the loved ones they leave behind. Workers who suffer a terminal illness will require support and understanding. This charter guarantees avoidance of additional stress and worry being placed upon them.”
