Thank you to Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council who signed the charter on 15th June 2016 providing protection for their 10,227 employees.

Sandwell Council Leader, Cllr Steve Eling, said:
“We recognise that employees with terminal illnesses require support and understanding, and not the additional stress and worry about possibly losing their job. We will set out to support terminally-ill employees following their diagnosis and to recognise that safe and reasonable work can maintain dignity and offer a valuable distraction. Sandwell Council has a long history of supporting employees diagnosed with terminal illness, but has never previously backed-up this stance by having a formal council rule on this matter.”

Thank you to AB Produce PLC who signed the charter on 18th April 2016 providing protection for their 150 employees.

Produce General Manager, Steve Rochelle, said:
“As soon as I heard of Jacci’s case story I was horrified there were still employers who would act in this manner and that employees had such little protection. For us it’s about doing the right thing and ensuring our friends and colleagues are treated accordingly. We’re pleased to be supporting our union, the GMB, and the TUC.  I encourage other businesses to support this voluntary charter.”

Thank you to E.ON who signed the charter on 18th April 2016 providing protection for their 10,000 employees.
