County Hall promises to support ​its terminally ill workers

Terminally ill workers will be supported in their jobs, County Hall has promised.

Leicestershire County Council today (Tuesday, March 7) signed up to the Trades Union Congress (TUC) Dying to Work Voluntary Charter.

The charter is part of a wider TUC campaign which is seeking greater security for terminally ill workers, in particular that they cannot be dismissed as a result of their condition.

Council leader Nick Rushton, below, said: “We are committed to supporting our staff during the most difficult of times.

“Signing this charter is an important way of showing this commitment.”
